The Formula for Market Dominance™ Step 1:

Deserve the Business

The formula for achieving sustained success from your marketing and advertising starts by having something valuable to offer. The professional service business that delivers average services, or worse, cannot create a campaign that will result in an abundance of new business over the long haul without misleading the public. This provider will not be able to make specific, strong claims that a superior provider can. Should such a provider's advertising initially drive in business through gimmicks or generalized claims that are untrue, unhappy clients (or patients) will prevent that business from enjoying the repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals that are so essential for continual business growth. A superior competitor that knows how to communicate effectively to its prospective clients will blow the mediocre provider away.

A Specific Example: An Audiology Practice

An average audiology practice may initially receive leads via bait and switch ads or, what we call, false study ads. An example is, "We need 20 people to participate in a study on a new hearing aid." These ads may work for a while for a mediocre provider, and for some time longer for a superior practitioner. However, these ads will not only fail to promote long-term growth, they may eventually harm an audiology practice's reputation.

Your Underlying Key to Marketing Success

There are seven steps that must be carried out correctly to achieve a sustained, strong response to online or traditional-media marketing. The initial step is the most important and is actually a prerequisite for the others. This step is BE SUPERIOR— DESERVE THE BUSINESS

To become the dominant player in a market, professional service providers must offer a CLEARLY superior experience to their target markets. Superiority can be in terms of quality of service, convenience, consistency, customer service, and/or price (value). If what you offer is clearly superior to your competitors in at least one of these areas, you have the wherewithal to grow your market share with compelling messaging. On the other hand, if your business offers no more than somewhat above average value, you need to innovate your business so it is clearly superior. This is usually easier to accomplish than most business owners think. Applying The Blueprint for Competitive Advantage Innovations is your solution. Actually, we recommend to our clients that we hold Innovation Workshops with them even if they already offer a superior experience to their clients. The reason is that the greater the separation is between them and their competitors, the more powerful the content we can create, and the more business volume our clients will enjoy.
